Culture, with little original Greek Villages and Beaches

First Day: Depending on the time of your arrival, we will first get to know the horses and afterwards visit the famous Monastery "Thari".

Night in double room

Second Day: We saddle our Horses to make a nice Panorama Ride for 3 hours so we get to know the Horse we chose.

Night in double room

Third Day:

Today our eyes are spoiled by such beautiful panoramas, View to the dam,

the highest mountain Ataviros and the still distant Aegean Sea.

Night in tent

4th Day: We ride on forgotten donkey and carriage paths which provide us with panoramic views until we reach our destination Beach by “Monolithos”. By arriving to the beach we enjoy the nice BBQ made by Taki and a beautiful sunset made by....☀

The sound of the sea accompanied us to sleep.

Night in tent

5th Day: We continue riding partly on the beach. During our lunch break we will have time to swim, relax and strengthen ourselves. After lunch we ride in a rapid pace to “Arnitha”, a village with about 300 residents. The history of the village goes back to the Hellenistic period and at the end of the village is the small chapel of “Saint Nicolas” from the 13th century. We spend our night at the small Monastery called “Saint Filimonas” right next to the village.

Night in monastery

6th Day: Once again our path takes us up a mountain with incredible heights overlooking the South and the two Seas of Rhodes to the village “Mesanagrós”. The Church “Kimissis tis Theotokou” was built on the foundations of an early Christian basilica of the 5th Century and has the oldest baptismal font of the Christian-Time. On foot and with Horse on hand we go 4km down the mountain overlooking a small Dam.  Then we get back on our Horses and after a gallop we are by the sea and soon arriving at our destination “Gennadi-Beach"

BBQ at the Restaurant or at the beach- depend on the season.

Night in tent

7th Day: Good morning swim with the horses, just enjoy every moment. After Breakfast we are on tour again, way home, we have the opportunity to explore “Asklipeo”, this is the birthplace of Asclepius (Aesculapius), the son of Apollo and the God of healing. In ancient times the city was a center for healing. In the square is the Church “Kimissis Theotókou”, one of the most remarkable Churches on Rhodes. It was built in 1060 as a cross-domed church and in the 14th century it was expanded. The ceilings and walls are painted with frescoes from the 17th century, decorated reminiscent of an old-fashioned pattern. The pictures show scenes of the Old Testament. In the Southern Cross arm of the church, rather a typical representation of the Apocalypse is shown, seven-headed dragon, trumpeters, the devil as a winged animal which kidnaps humans and the four apocalyptic horsemen.

The tiny museum on the church grounds invites us to inspect the original farm tools and the old olive press. When walking along the narrow streets of “Asklipeo” you should be prepared to be overwhelmed by the medieval feeling especially when coming closer to the “Asklipeo Castle”. This was built by the knights in the 13th Century.

At home on the Ranch Augustinos will be waiting for us with a delicious BBQ.

110-120  km riding are successfully accomplished and a cultural, joyful holiday comes to an end.
